Now that the temperatures are finally rising, my friend and I planned a trip to Scheveningen. Situated close to the city centre of The Hague, this beach is the most buzzing and touristy beach of The Netherlands. Besides the long, sandy beach, there are plenty possibilities to fill in your day with. A stroll on the promenade definitely can’t be left out. At night, this area becomes very lively and there’s an endless option of bars, restaurants and beach clubs. Since recent years, the Pier has re-opened again and is now a nice hotspot combined with the ferris-wheel as a real eye-catcher. On this afternoon, we decided to take a long stroll on the beach and we passed by these rainbow-colored piles, don’t they look incredible?

When the sun slowly began to set and after strolling along the many beach clubs Scheveningen has to offer, we stumbled upon Beachclub Indigo. This hotspot has an amazing colorful interior and a beach vibes are great. We ordered fruity, refreshing lemonades, farmers fries & a grilled wasabi chicken salad. I was totally in my happy place: spending our day in Scheveningen was the perfect way to welcome the upcoming Summer days…

Lots of love,

Exploring The Veluwe

IMG_1713On a very warm and sunny day, my sister and I decided to visit one of the most beautiful forests of The Netherlands: The Veluwe. The National Park of this forest-rich ridge of hills is situated in the province of Gelderland and features several different landscapes. Heath, woodland and sand drifts, they are all present. The best way to explore all the amazing things this region has to offer is a very “Dutch” one, namely by bike! The well-known white bicycles are very convenient and scattered throughout the whole park.

After we picked up a map and chose our race-monsters for that day, we were ready to go. In a short period of time, we cycled trough different landscapes which was such a great experience. At one moment, it even felt like I was in a different country (I often feel like a tourist in Holland haha). We had a small picnic close to a lake for lunch and cycled for a bit after our break. I read on beforehand that it was possible to spot deers and foxes, but we decided to save it for next time since temperatures reached above 30C that afternoon (…cycling became too hot to handle). All in all, we had a wonderful time and I’m eager to visit this place again one day.

Lots of love,

Manisha

Life in London: final goodbye

Last week I flew back to my all-time favourite city to write my final exam. Since my semester already ended at the end of March and my last exam was planned 2 months later, I decided to go home in between. The exam was for my Labour law course, a quite interesting one since both UK and EU law were discussed and a lot of recent developments have taken place in this area. I had plenty of time to mentally prepare myself for it and when exam day finally arrived, I felt totally ready for it. After the 2.15 hours of intense writing, I was finished and felt relieved. From that moment on, it was time to enjoy my remaining days in the city to the max!
