It’s been a while since I’ve visited the city-centre of Amsterdam, so it was right about time to go! Together with my South-African friend Anél, we the main canal area and explored the ‘Negen Straatjes’, one of my favorite streets of the city. Plenty of unique shops & good food places are situated here.

For lunch, we decided to go to Ree7: a cute lunch place in the Hartenstraat. The buzzing ambiance was great and I ordered a sandwich with grilled veggies & homemade ice-tea.
Oh Leiden, you keep surprising me. I’ve already studied for 6 years in this cozy city, and I’m still discovering new places now and then. One of the spots I started to admire more recently is het Plantsoen, a park situated in the South of the city. The waterside, fountains, bird-cages with some really cool animals and huge trees make this park the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle or simply just to enjoy nature. The surrounding neigborhoods are worth exploring as well. Expect lots of pretty home decorations, flowers, unique buildings & cats!
I’ve become a picnic-enthusiast after the ones I had in London, so I decided to bring my red blanket on this evening as well. We found the perfect spot underneath a tree and close to the water. The sun flickered through the waving leaves, small boats were passing by, people were sunbathing and swimming and we enjoyed the last sun-rays…
